About Research Peptides & Regulatory Status

What are research peptides, and how are they synthesized?

Research peptides are short biological polymers composed of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds (typically between 2 to 50 residues). Cove Labs compounds are synthesized using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) under automated conditions, followed by preparative reversed-phase HPLC column purification to isolate the precise target peptide sequence.

“For Research Use Only” designates that these biochemicals are produced solely for in-vitro cell assays, biological receptor studies, and preclinical scientific experimentation. They are strictly not approved or intended for human or animal consumption, therapeutic administration, diagnostic procedures, or clinical application under any circumstances.

Purchases are restricted to qualified researchers, academic institutions, private laboratory facilities, and individuals aged 18 or older who possess the appropriate expertise, protective equipment, and facility standards to handle research biochemicals safely.

Storage, Stability & Reconstitution Protocols

How should lyophilized peptides be stored prior to reconstitution?

Lyophilized peptide vials should be maintained at -20°C (or -80°C for long-term multi-year preservation) in a dry, light-shielded environment. When properly stored at -20°C in their unopened nitrogen-sealed vials, peptides demonstrate stability for over 24 months. Avoid frequent temperature cycling.

Allow the sealed vial to equilibrate to room temperature for 15-20 minutes to prevent moisture condensation. Introduce sterile Bacteriostatic Water slowly down the internal glass wall of the vial. Do not vortex or shake vigorously, as mechanical agitation can denature tertiary peptide conformations. Gently swirl until the solution is clear.

Once reconstituted with Bacteriostatic Water (containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol), the vial should be stored at 2°C to 8°C and used within 21 to 28 days for optimal biological activity. For longer observation timelines, aliquot into single-use sterile micro-centrifuge tubes and freeze at -20°C.

Quality, HPLC Analysis & COA Documentation

What purity level is guaranteed for Cove Labs compounds?

All Cove Labs peptide reagents carry an empirical purity specification of ≥ 98.0% as determined by Reversed-Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC). Most production lots achieve purity between 99.1% and 99.7%.

Every product page contains a dedicated “Batch Certificate (COA)” tab. You can also view our full public database on the Quality & Testing page, where you can inspect full chromatogram traces and mass spectrometry confirmation data.

Ordering, Payment & Cold-Chain Shipping

How fast do orders process and ship?

Orders received before 2:00 PM EST Monday through Friday are processed and packed on the same business day. We utilize tracked priority couriers with typical domestic delivery times of 2 to 4 business days.

Lyophilized peptides are thermally stable at ambient transit temperatures for short durations, but we encase all shipments in insulated packaging with shock-absorbing foam inserts and temperature-moderating materials to guarantee protection against transit trauma.
